The Singapore Flyer is a giant observation wheel from which visitors can experience some of the best views in the entire region. The diameter of the wheel is 150 metres and it is 165 metres high which is the height of a 42-storey building. I went on the Singapore Flyer during a learning journey organized by my school and I realized that we could learn many things while riding the Singapore Flyer. The duration of the ride was about 30 minutes. Each air-conditioned and UV protected capsule could hold up to 28 people.
When we reached the top of the Singapore Flyer, the 360 degrees view was breathtaking. From the top, you can enjoy the picturesque scenery of Singapore’s city (from Changi airport to Sentosa Island). You can also see beyond into parts of Malaysia and Indonesia.
I really enjoyed myself on the Singapore Flyer although some of my classmates were acrophobic. On the Singapore Flyer, we learnt about physics and the math behind the mechanics of each carefully designed capsule to maintain full stability and safety. At the bottom of the Singapore Flyer, there is a rainforest that we can walk into to enrich our learning of science and geography.
The Singapore Flyer is something not to be missed!
